Strong and effective leadership is essential for all school districts. IU 13 provides the following services specifically designed to hone the skills of current and future leaders.
On-Site, Customized Professional Development
IU 13 provides customized professional development for schools, districts and school boards in a variety of subjects and topics including, but not limited to, book studies, retreat planning, data analysis, data team training, and more.
Regional Networking/Learning Communities
IU 13 hosts forums and monthly job-alike meetings and study councils to provide on-going networking, information updates and professional development opportunities for superintendents, curriculum coordinators, principals, special educators and technology leaders. In addition, IU 13 staff offers quarterly meetings for principals, information sessions for aspiring leaders and meetings throughout the year for teacher leaders.
Virtual Communication/Collaboration
IU 13 maintains a SharePoint environment for topic and job-alike groups within and throughout our school districts. Additionally, listservs are used for quick and easy email communication among job-alike groups including principals, curriculum coordinators, science, mathematics and literacy leaders, and superintendents in IU 13 school districts.
Related Services
IU 13 creates and provides support in the creation of courses and/or programs to be submitted as Invitations To Qualify (ITQ) for Act 45 credit.
