Mathematics K-12 

IU 13 continues to support school districts in their efforts to bring scientifically-based mathematics instruction to their classrooms. By bringing top quality products and services to local schools, IU 13 works side-by-side with mathematics teachers and administrators to enhance and increase student achievement.

Mathematics Professional Development

Throughout the year, IU 13 offers professional development workshops for educators featuring best practices in the various aspects of mathematics instruction.  A Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Academy is held each summer, offering local teachers and administrators opportunities to hear nationally known experts in STEM education.

Math-Science Partnership Grant Program

IU 13 has received a federal Math-Science Partnership grant, which is supporting a 3-year professional development program and action research study called Project ARRMS (Achieving Rigor and Relevance in Math and Science). Project ARRMS will operate through the 2012-13 school year, and currently involves over 100 teachers from 22 school districts and 6 nonpublic schools. On-site Consultation and Technical Assistance

IU 13 offers on-site consultation and technical assistance in enhancing a standards-aligned system for mathematics education at the district, school, and classroom levels, with a particular focus on curriculum alignment and prioritization.

Networking/Learning Communities

This service provides a forum to discuss best practices in curriculum, assessment and instruction for the mathematics department coordinators/supervisors/leaders.  Shared learning experiences and collaborative projects that benefit the greater group are common outcomes. 

Mathematics Points of Contact

This service provides a forum for math education leaders to keep abreast of the most current information from PDE and math professional organizations.  This group serves as a collaborative resource for regional professional development activities and assists in building math leadership capacity in home schools/districts.
