Making a difference today in schools and focusing on the future might appear challenging. Establishing a foundation of essential instructional and relational support practices is critical for educators and others faced with this difficult task. If we are to improve all schools, as measured by improved student performance, we must develop school improvement plans that directly impact what happens in the teaching and learning environment. Schools that succeed are those that implement assessment and instructional practices that have the highest probability of enhancing achievement for all students.

Focusing on the future and essential instructional practices of high-quality teaching and learning offers enormous promise for enhancing the efforts of school improvement. The sessions offered at this year’s conference, “Focusing on the Future: Essential Practices,” will provide participants with information and practical strategies for keeping the lens of the future’s impending challenges in focus.

Lancaster-Lebanon IU 13 cordially invites everyone who is committed to ensuring the positive impact of teaching on student learning to participate in this conference. IU 13 is devoted to providing services, support, and solutions for implementing essential practices while focusing on the future.
