Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU 13) recognizes the importance of making public records available for review and inspection by members of the public. The Intermediate Unit also recognizes the need to maintain confidentiality of certain Intermediate Unit records as required by law. The Intermediate Unit shall make public records available for inspection and/or duplication in accordance with applicable law and the guidelines as addressed in its Public Access to Public Records Policy, as adopted by the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 Board of School Directors (12/10/08).
This board policy includes:
- The procedure for requesting records
- Definitions of types of records
- Records exempt from disclosure
All requests for public records must specifically identify and describe each record requested; include the date of the request, the requester’s name, address, telephone number and signature; include certification the individual submitting the request is a United States resident; and, if duplication of records is requested, appropriate payment.
All requests for public records must be submitted in writing to the Open Records Officer, either in person, by mail, by facsimile or through electronic mail. Questions about access to IU 13 public records should also be addressed to IU 13's Open Records Officer:
