Student Events
The
following events are held annually for students and are sponsored or supported
by IU 13:
A Day for Peace in Lancaster County
- This annual event is a daylong Youth Peace Council
conference in March aimed at presenting speakers and activities promoting
nonviolence. For more information, contact Anita

Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus and Statistics Simulations
- AP Calculus and AP Statistics Simulations provide
an opportunity for students to experience the AP Calculus and/or AP
Statistics testing while their teachers are in-serviced on the grading
and trends in the AP Mathematics program. During the sessions, teachers
grade students' free response questions and receive an evaluation for
each student who participates. This opportunity is generally offered
each April to prepare students for AP exams in May. For more information,

Challenge Day
- Challenge Day is an annual track and field day held
each May for students enrolled in IU 13 special education programs.

Employer Appreciation Luncheons
- IU 13's School-to-Work Program holds annual luncheons
to recognize local employers who participate in the program. For more

Optimist Olympics
- The Optimist Olympics is held at York College each
year by the Optimist Club for students with sensory impairments. For

School-to-Work College Fairs
- IU 13 sponsors college fairs each year focused especially
for students with disabilities. For more information, contact Brenda
Kauffman.
Technology Fair
- This annual event is a competition for local
students in various technology areas. Winners qualify for state competition.
