Application Process

IU13 accepts applications throughout the year. All applications submitted will receive a confirmation notification via email. Applications are screened, and qualified applicants selected for the interview process will be contacted by Human Resources Services. All applications are retained on file for one year.

Internal applicants:

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 promotes professional growth and advancement for all of its staff members. IU13 employees are encouraged to apply for any available position for which they are interested and qualified. Frequently Asked Questions about the Hiring Process:

Ready to apply for a position at IU13? Wonderful! While not required, below is a handy checklist of items that will be helpful to have as you begin the application process:

  • Updated copy of your resume
  • A complete education and work history
  • List of professional references (email addresses required)
  • A cover letter
  • A copy of certificate or licensure to attach (if applicable)

Not at the application stage. Clearances are helpful to have, and would be required for employment, however, they are not required at the application stage.

Yes! While we encourage applicants to provide as much accurate information as possible, in the required sections, you always can log back in to your application, at any time, to add additional supplemental materials such as a resume or cover letter, or to add/modify information provided on your application.

You are very welcome to apply to any position(s) that you are interested in, qualified for, and that fit with your desired commute and availability. The Frontline Recruiting & Hiring application system allows for multiple job ID numbers to be checked during the application process.

We look at each application, personally. The review process is not automated, and includes screening, reviewing, and acknowledging. The time required to do this varies by position and can sometimes be lengthy. We encourage you to reach out with any questions:

While the minimum requirement to apply for a classroom aide (paraprofessional or personal care assistant) position is a high school diploma or GED, once you are employed with us, you will have to complete additional training (which we will provide). In particular, all individuals hired for paraprofessional positions, including full-time and part-time paraeducators and personal care assistants (not including substitutes), must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be considered a Qualified Educational Paraprofessional by meeting one of the following:
    • Have an approved Credential of Competency issued by the PA Department of Education (copy of certificate required).
    • Have earned an associate’s degree or higher (copy of transcript required).
    • Have earned 48 or more postsecondary credits (copy of transcript required).
  • OR must be willing to complete the requirements to become a Qualified Educational Paraprofessional within 6 months of employment.

All candidates for professional positions must have a valid Pennsylvania Instructional certificate or appropriate licensure. For more information, please visit our Special Education K-12 Certificated/Licensed Positions.
