IU 13 serves the 22 school districts in Pennsylvania’s Lancaster and Lebanon Counties as well as students in nonpublic schools, preschoolers, and adult learners.

Substitute Employment at IU 13

IU 13 has an ongoing need for daily substitute teachers and paraeducators to work in the special needs classrooms in Lancaster and Lebanon school districts. Substitutes have the opportunity to work with a variety of disabilities including emotional, autistic, learning disabled, life skills, hearing impaired, multihandicapped, and physically disabled. Substitutes may also choose the geographic locations in which they wish to work in addition to their own flexible work schedule preferences.

The current rate of pay is $100.00/day for teachers and $60.00/day for paraeducators.

Teacher substitutes must hold any valid Pennsylvania certificate. Paraeducators are required to have a high school diploma.
