advancements in communication technologies have led to increased educational
opportunities via distance education. IU 13 Technology Services offers
multiple distance education opportunities for direct instruction and
professional development. At its most basic level, distance education
occurs when a teacher and student(s) are separated by physical distance
(this distance could mean different classrooms in the same school or
different locations thousands of miles apart). Technology is used to
bridge this distance gap by delivering interactive instruction with
voice, video, computer data, and print, or a combination of these methods.
