The STEM Team, a part of the Instructional Services Department at Lancaster-Lebanon IU13, offers a comprehensive collection of Innovative Solutions for STEM Education. A variety of workshops, institutes, and grant-funded/sponsored professional development opportunities for teachers are also part of the unique offerings that are focused on assisting schools and districts to increase student learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
What is STEM?
STEM education is an intentional, integrative approach to teaching and learning in which students uncover and acquire a cohesive set of concepts, competencies, and dispositions of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that they transfer and apply in a variety of contexts in order to be successful in school, in their community, at work, and throughout the world.
A Roadmap to STEELS Implementation

The STEELS Standards were adopted by the Pennsylvania State Board of Education in July 2022 and will be a requirement for all Pennsylvania school districts for the 2025-2026 school year.
