Digital Literacy Institute

August 7-8, 2018 All Day Event

The Conference and Training Center at IU13

With increased access to technology in the classroom, students are engaging in digital communication more than ever before. Students are both reading and composing texts as part of a digitally-connected world. We know that teaching the communication arts in any grade level or subject area goes much deeper than access to technology devices, tools and digital content. We also know that technology can enhance the important work we do with our students. What are effective instructional approaches for engaging students in connected reading and digital writing? Over two days, participants will examine various instructional techniques and tools for digital literacy instruction and will walk away with new ideas for integrating technology in a meaningful way to teach reading, writing, speaking or listening in any grade level or subject area. Participants should bring their own laptops.
