National Night Out - Local Resources

National Night Out is a community event aimed at building relationships between police officers and the people they serve, and is held on the first Tuesday of August. New Holland is hosting its very first National Night Out, along with many other cities in the Lancaster County and Lebanon Valley areas. Check out the links below to find the closest event near you! The night will feature entertainment like petting zoos, face painting, live music, games, and plenty of free food.

Following is a list of some of the National Night Out events being held Tuesday around Lancaster County:

What: Columbia’s National Night Out event, organized by the borough’s police department, will feature a demonstration of Lancaster County Prison’s K-9 unit, a petting zoo, a dunk tank, live music, free food and drink, a kickball game between children and first responders, and more.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Glatfelter Memorial Field, 13th Street and Lancaster Avenue, Columbia.

What: Join the Christiana Police Department for family friendly activities, free Rita’s Italian Ice, K-9 and fire demonstrations, and more.
When: 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Christiana Borough Office, 10 W. Slokom Ave., Christiana.

What: The East Cocalico Township Police Department will host this free kid-friendly event.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Reamstown Memorial Park, 23 E. Church St.

What: Enjoy a family friendly bike ride starting at Village Commons and ending at the East Petersburg Community Pool. Drinks and food provided, as well as free pool admission.
When: 6 p.m.
Where: East Petersburg Community Pool, 2575 Graystone Road, East Petersburg.

What: Several block parties.
Where: Neighbors United, 700 block of North Shippen Street from East New to East Clay streets, 6 to 8 p.m. The Mix at Arbor Place, 500 block of North Street from Strawberry to South Christian streets, 5 p.m. SoWe neighborhood, 400 block of St. Joseph Street, 5 to 8 p.m.

What: Celebration includes a free swim night and displays of first responder personnel and equipment. Participants will include Manheim Borough Police Department, Northwest EMS, and Manheim, Mastersonville and Penryn fire companies.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Manheim Community Pool, 504 E. Adele Ave.

What: Touch a fire truck, eat free food and talk to your neighbors and law enforcement personnel from the Manheim Township Police Department.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Overlook Park, at Manheim and Lititz pikes and Granite Run Drive.

What: Join Clay, Warwick and Penn townships for free food and drinks, giveaways, games and first-responder demonstrations provided by the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: The Shoppes at Kissel Village, 1004 Lititz Pike, Lititz.

Evening Update: The Latest News — The latest news headlines from across Lancaster County, delivered every evening at 7 p.m.
What: The Northwest Regional Police Department is sponsoring an evening of snow cones, milkshakes, facepainting, pony rides, reptiles and more. K-9 Arlo will also make his public debut.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: West Donegal Township building, 1 Municipal Drive, Elizabethtown.

What: The Southern Regional Police Department will host an evening featuring a dunk tank and bounce house, free food and drink, and exhibits from the police department, the New Danville and West Willow fire companies and Lancaster EMS.
When: 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: West Willow Fire Company, 192 West Willow Road, Willow Street.

What: Free event will include food and entertainment, a DJ, horseback rides, a mechanical bull, a K-9 demonstration and sporting activities. Participants will include police from the West Lampeter, Strasburg and Southern Regional departments, along with the county Special Emergency Response team, Lampeter and Willow Street fire companies, and others.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Lampeter Fairgrounds on Village Road.

What: Join state police, Lancaster EMS and Rawlinsville, Willow Street and Quarryville fire companies for food from Musser’s Markets, giveaways, prizes and more.
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: 200 Mount Airy Road, New Providence.

What: Police from East Hempfield and Manor townships, Millersville Borough and Millersville University will host an evening of free Rita’s Italian Ice, entertainment from WSOX 96.1 FM, and a dunk tank featuring state Sen. Scott Martin.
When: 6 to 8 p.m.
