McManness Named Outstanding Leader of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association for Adult Continuing Education (PAACE)
May 8, 2023 (LANCASTER, PA): Josh McManness (Lancaster, PA) was named the Outstanding Leader of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association for Adult Continuing Education (PAACE). McManness is a Program Manager for the IU13 Community Education program. The PAACE Outstanding Leader of the Year is presented to an adult education administrator with five or more years of experience who has made an outstanding contribution toward fostering the concept of education as a continuing life-process. “Josh’s compassion for staff and program participants, his ability to effectively communicate his vision and priorities, his gift of listening and leading through example, and his gentle but firm approach, make him the right person to receive this prestigious award,” said Tim Shenk, Program Director for IU13 Community Education.
Additionally, the Lancaster Chamber was named the PAACE Partner of the Year, which is presented to a partnering agency that demonstrates significant dedication to the success of adult education services. IU13 Community Education nominated the Lancaster Chamber for the PAACE Partner of the Year Award, to recognize the organization for its partnership in enabling meaningful employment opportunities for immigrants and reentrants. “We appreciate this special recognition and look forward to continuing our efforts in addressing Lancaster’s workforce needs and providing common sense solutions,” the organization said in a statement.
McManness and the Lancaster Chamber were presented with the awards at the Annual PAACE Conference held at the Lancaster Marriott on April 25, 2023. PAACE inspires adult education partners through advocacy, networking, and professional development so that adults succeed and communities thrive.
