Gifted Education Network Meeting – September

These half-day job-alike gatherings will be facilitated by IU13 and open to any staff invested in supporting the academic growth of gifted/advanced learners and complying with Chapter 16 regulations. A key component of each meeting will be time set aside for collaboration with grade-level, job-alike colleagues. District/school staff will also...
These half-day job-alike gatherings will be facilitated by IU13 and open to any staff invested in supporting the academic growth of gifted/advanced learners and complying with Chapter 16 regulations. A key component of each meeting will be time set aside for collaboration with grade-level, job-alike colleagues. District/school staff will also have the option to plan as a team during a portion of the meeting. Communication for the Gifted Network will primarily take place through Schoology, and anyone interested may join this Group for updates, resources, and discussions. The access code is FBGZM-ZHCMD. Registration will be required for each meeting for planning and Act 48 purposes. There is NO COST for IU13 district and nonpublic school staff to participate in network meetings.

Gifted learners bring extraordinary strengths to the classroom and equally unique social-emotional challenges that are often overlooked or misunderstood. In this interactive workshop, educators will explore the distinctive SEW needs of gifted students and discover how the CASEL framework provides a powerful lens for meeting those needs intentionally and effectively. We'll unpack CASEL's 3 Signature Practices and explore how to weave them seamlessly into your daily classroom routines - low prep, high yield strategies that work for any learner, with a special focus on what resonates most with gifted kids. You'll walk away with more than ideas - you'll leave with a plan. The session wraps up with a hands-on Make & Take where you'll map out a month of SEW-aligned practices tailored to your gifted learners, ready to implement the moment you walk back into your classroom. Participants will: * Understand the unique social-emotional wellness needs of gifted learners * Explore the CASEL framework and its 3 Signature Practices * Identify low-prep, high-yield strategies that are especially effective for gifted students * Build a personalized monthly SEW implementation map to take back to their classroom This professional learning session will be led by Natalie Bowen, a Teaching and Learning Specialist from Delaware County Intermediate Unit. **Registration Fee: - Districts part of the Gifted Network Professional Development Series: No Cost. - IU13 Member Districts: $135.00 - Non IU13 Member Districts: $165.00
