Explore the roots of perfectionism in gifted learners and discover strategies to shift from pressure and fear to progress and healthy striving. Our time together will cover how to recognize the difference between healthy striving and unhealthy perfectionism in gifted students. We will then identify underlying causes of perfectionistic behaviors, including asynchronous development and fixed mindset patterns and then apply evidence-based cognitive, behavioral, and emotional strategies to help students reframe failure and manage perfectionistic anxiety.

Gifted learners bring extraordinary strengths to the classroom and equally unique social-emotional challenges that are often overlooked or misunderstood. In this interactive workshop, educators will explore the distinctive SEW needs of gifted students and discover how the CASEL framework provides a powerful lens for meeting those needs intentionally and effectively. We'll unpack CASEL's 3 Signature Practices and explore how to weave them seamlessly into your daily classroom routines - low prep, high yield strategies that work for any learner, with a special focus on what resonates most with gifted kids. You'll walk away with more than ideas - you'll leave with a plan. The session wraps up with a hands-on Make & Take where you'll map out a month of SEW-aligned practices tailored to your gifted learners, ready to implement the moment you walk back into your classroom. This session is designed to support new and veteran gifted teachers with understanding who gifted students are, how to manage the documentation, and what strategies to use to write and implement GIEPS. Topics will include an overview of PA's definition of gifted education, Chapter 16 and a review of the forms that support gifted education. No cost
