The STEELS Standards were adopted by the Pennsylvania State Board of Education in July 2022 and will be a requirement for all Pennsylvania school districts for the 2025-2026 school year.

STEELS Standards Implementation

The IU13 Teaching and Learning Collaborative has created a series of Act 48 and Act 45 professional learning sessions and workshops that give educators and administrators powerful tools for a smooth implementation of the new STEELS Standards. Topics include:

  • Leadership
  • Phenomena-based learning
  • 3-Dimensional learning and assessments
  • Teacher coaching
  • Integrating STEELS into course design

In addition to the sessions above, IU13 offers many other opportunities to deepen knowledge of STEELS Standards and to gain instructional skills and tools.
