K’Nex STEM Design Challenge
The Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 K’NEX STEM Design Challenge raises awareness of the importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. Elementary-level students in grades 4 & 5 participate in an exciting competition where they are tasked with designing, developing, and implementing a solution to an engineering problem. Students are scored on creativity, teamwork, and the success of the challenge.

Tournament Information:
- Tournament Date: February 5, 2026 (snow date: February 12, 2026)
- Registration Opens: Friday, November 14, 2025
- Registration Deadline: Saturday, January 10, 2026
- Registration Link:
- Time: 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM (Team check-in begins at 8:45 AM)
- Location: The Conference & Training Center at IU13 (1020 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, PA)
- Team Entry Fee: $150 per four-student team (max number of teams is 20)
- Number of Teams: Each district may register one team of four students. If additional spots become available, they will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
