A blend of full-day sessions, job-embedded activities, and PLC meetings will support educators as they refine literacy practices to ensure all learners have the skills necessary to thrive as readers. Topics: * What is the Science of Reading? * Scarborough's Rope * Simple View of Reading * How Students Learn to Read * Word Recognition (Decoding) * Language Comprehension * Reading Comprehension * Structured Literacy Location: Full-day sessions will be held at The Conference and Training Center at IU13, 1020 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster PLC meetings will be held virtually. Coach Mentor Collaborative Meeting – December

This workshop is designed for educators who are incorporating STEELS into their teaching practice, regardless of subject area or grade level. Participants will explore implementing STEELS in a student-centered learning environment. Through hands-on activities and discussions, educators will explore strategies for designing and facilitating student-centered learning experiences that integrate STEELS concepts. Participants will leave with practical resources and resources for implementing STEELS in their classrooms, as well as a deeper understanding of how to create engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences for all students.*Participants invited to attend by their district under an established contract are welcome to register at no additional cost (costs are already included in the established contract). For participants who want to attend a workshop outside of a previously established district contract, the cost is $169 for IU13 district participants and $199 for non-IU13 district participants.
