Designed for real school and district settings, this course provides school and system leaders with a foundational understanding of curriculum as the designed plan for learning, not simply a collection of standards, pacing guides, or resources. Participants will explore how a shared vision of curriculum can serve as a driver of professional learning, coherence, and instructional improvement. Through interactive content, collaborative reflection, and job-embedded application tasks, leaders will build clarity around curriculum, examine how it is used in their own contexts, and design actionable leadership steps to move practice forward. The course emphasizes practical application by engaging participants in curriculum audits, tool redesigns, and leadership action planning, ensuring relevance to their school and district settings. Key Ideas Explored •Curriculum is a living framework for learning, not just materials or pacing guides •Shared definitions and common language build clarity and coherence across classrooms and schools •Curriculum functions as a lever for professional learning, not compliance •Leadership tools and actions can either reinforce surface-level practices or foster deep learning •Sustainable change depends on alignment between curriculum, leadership routines, and vision Course Design & Participant Requirements Format: 100% asynchronous, delivered through three self-paced modules (10 hours total) Learning Modes: Videos, curated readings, reflection prompts, peer discussion forums, job-embedded leadership tasks Information about course work will be sent out the day prior to the start of the course.
