Deaf-Blind Resource Team

In collaboration with The Pennsylvania Deaf-Blind Project, IU13 has developed a Deaf-Blind Resource Team (DBRT) intended to establish a system of technical assistance resources to build capacity at the state, regional, and local levels for supporting LEAs, educators, and families of students who are deaf-blind.

DBRT Vision & Mission

The vision of the IU13 Deaf-Blind Resource Team is to ensure that all who are deaf-blind achieve their maximum potential through increased independence, productivity, and integration into the community.  Our mission is to provide research-based training and strategies, consultative services, and resources for local students, their families, and education agencies.

About the DBRT Team

The DBRT consists of members representing the multiple disciplines that benefit students who are deaf-blind, including:

  • Teachers of the Visually Impaired
  • Teachers of the Deaf
  • Speech and Language Therapist
  • Audiologist
  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist
  • School Social Worker as Family Liaison
  • Training and Consultation Team Member
