Transition Supports and Resources

Group of high school graduatesIU13 Transition Services provide districts with information related to the complex transition needs of students as they progress from school to adulthood.

The program builds capacity in local school districts to meet the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requirements.

Transition Network Meetings: Lancaster and Lebanon Transition  Council (TC)

Transition Council (TC) is a network of parents, consumers, educators, and community service providers helping students with special needs in their transition from school to adult life. Its mission is to promote effective transition planning for students with disabilities from school to adult life.

TC is facilitated by IU13’s Special Education Services. Act 48 credits are offered to educators. Dates of meetings are listed in the TC Meetings Datesaver

Transition to Post-Secondary Education Fair

The IU13 Transition to Post-Secondary Education Fair for Students with 504 Plans and IEPs is offered to 9th-12th grade students with disabilities, their families, and educators. The program focuses on post-secondary options for students and the change in demands from high school to college studies.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet with administrators and counselors from colleges, universities, and trade and technical schools, and also with representatives from agencies that offer support to students in the post-secondary setting.
