Financial Support:

The Lancaster-Lebanon Education Foundation partners with IU13 to accept contributions. You can make a donation to any of the following Community Education causes:

  • The Community Education General Fund supports the overall Community Education program in educating and inspiring lifelong learners to meet their individual goals. The program hires teachers, advisors, connectors, and supporters for thousands of learners in Lancaster and Lebanon counties each year.
  • The Community Education Student Assistance Fund directly supports adults who need money to pay for testing fees, bus passes, work clothing, books, or any other items needed to remove roadblocks to success.
  • The Refugee Center Fund directly supports refugees and immigrants, and Community Education’s integration services to serve these populations through bilingual cultural navigation to help them confidently access resources in their new community.

Adult Education Classes:

There are numerous opportunities to serve as a volunteer for English as a Second Language, High School Equivalency, or other adult education classes through 1:1 tutoring, small group learning opportunities, and full-class teacher support scenarios. Potential volunteers should contact the Literacy Council of Lancaster-Lebanon at 717-295-5523 to set up an initial interview. Volunteers should indicate that they want to volunteer for IU13.

Refugee Center and Community School:

Volunteers are needed at the Refugee Center and Community School to help with Career Day, oversee the school store, sit with students during lunch time, help out in the library, take the lead or assist with fundraisers, and assist with numerous other assignments. Potential volunteers should contact us at 717-947-1710 or rccsr@iu13.org.

Thank you!
